What is the Running Fundamentals Program?
The Running Fundamentals Program is a comprehensive program designed to identify weaknesses that can lead to injuries and hinder your running potential. It consists of three one-on-one sessions with a physiotherapist, who will create a goal-driven, tailored plan to help you achieve your running aspirations through a customized strength and conditioning program.

What Conditions Can the Running Fundamentals Program Benefit?
The Running Assessment can help address various common running injuries and issues, including:
Foot and Ankle: Achilles tendon pain, heel pain, ankle sprains, stress fractures
Knee: Patellar tendon pain, ligament injuries, knee-cap pain, ITB-related pain
Hip: Hip impingement, side hip pain, tight and weak gluteal muscles
Lower Back: Low back pain, tightness, weak core strength/stability
What Do Running Fundamentals Sessions Look Like?
Each session includes a series of assessments designed to evaluate your running mechanics, strength, and overall fitness.
Session 1: Assessment Part 1 focuses on joint ranges of motion, muscle strength, endurance, agility, and proprioception, along with education on optimal running mechanics.
Session 2: Assessment Part 2 completes the evaluation with plyometric tests to assess force absorption and generation. You will receive a detailed summary report explaining the findings and a personalized stretch program.
Session 3: Discuss your recommended training program and accessory training to reduce injury risk and enhance overall running efficiency. This session also presents three options for your next steps.
